Nethmi Gunathilake

Next Gen Sequencing Technician
Biochemistry and Biophysics

I am a highly motivated and detail-oriented researcher with a strong academic foundation and extensive experience in sequencing technologies. I hold a master’s degree in biotechnology and a bachelor’s degree in molecular, micro, and cellular biology. My career includes two years on the development team at PacBio, where I honed my expertise in sequencing platform optimization and protocol development.
Since February 2024, I have served as an SRA 3 at the CAT, managing the PacBio sequencing workflow and collaborating with customers to customize solutions for their library preparation and sequencing needs.
I am passionate about troubleshooting, process optimization, and delivering high-quality results. My proactive approach, combined with my academic background and hands-on experience, enables me to contribute meaningfully to diverse research projects and support the CAT’s mission to advance genomics capabilities.
