Eric Chow, PhD

Eric Chow, PhD is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics and Director of the Center for Advanced Technology (CAT) at UCSF. The CAT evaluates and brings new technologies to campus that are available to all UCSF labs and provides guidance for projects. Over the past decade, the CAT has been a hub for new NGS methods, with a focus on single cell sequencing, spatial genomics, and infectious disease detection and diagnostics.

I am a highly motivated and detail-oriented researcher with a strong academic foundation and extensive experience in sequencing technologies. I hold a master’s degree in biotechnology and a bachelor’s degree in molecular, micro, and cellular biology. My career includes two years on the development team at PacBio, where I honed my expertise in sequencing platform optimization and protocol development.
