The Vidar Scanner is a new microarray scanner in our facility. Vidar has been a leader in making medical imaging instruments, and it has recently entered the microarray field. The Vidar scanner has a minimum resolution of 5 micrometers, equivalent to the GenePix 4000B, but it has the added ability to load 4 slides at a time. Standard .tiff images are produced that are compatible with GenePix and SpotReader. In addition, the scanner has its own image acquisition and analysis software called ArraySifter. CDs for the ArraySifter software are available in the CAT and do not require a dongle to operate.
You must be <trained> by a member of the Core Facility before you schedule or begin using the Vidar Scanner.
